Part-time Summer Instructors for Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math/Science Programs

Postion Summary

Part-time summer instructors will work for 6 weeks during the Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math & Science Programs Summer Camp-Monday through Friday from June 3, 2024-July 11, 2023. The students are high school level (Grades 9-12). The target population currently attends various high schools. The programs are seeking to hire instructors for English I, II, III and IV; Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Algebra III, and Calculus; Human Anatomy, Physical Science, Botany, Chemistry, Biology I, and Biology II; Reading; French I and French II; Spanish I and Spanish II; U.S. History; Computer Science/Coding, Introduction to Engineering; Constitutional Law; Economic & Financial Literacy, Theatre Arts, Nutrition & Fitness, Robotics and a Research Instructor for the Upward Bound Math & Science Program.

Duties

Assess students’ academic weaknesses in subject area; provides instruction for relevant content areas in all levels to enable students to overcome academic deficiencies; submits content outlines and syllabus of subject matter to be taught in each instruction session; evaluates and documents student attendance; evaluates and documents student progress by use of tutorial and grade reports.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A minimum of a 4-year degree in the appropriate academic areas. Three (3) years prior teaching experience and a current Mississippi teaching license is required. (Academic Instruction only)
