Severe Weather

When the Campus receives a severe weather threat for the area, the following procedures will apply:

  • Residential Housing - Follow instructions of residence hall staff for shelter procedures.
  • Campus Grounds - Enter the nearest building. Proceed to the lowest floor or inner room if possible; seek cover under a desk or sturdy table.
  • Classroom/Admin. Building - Proceed to the lowest floor or inner room if possible; seek cover under a desk or sturdy table.
  • Stay away from windows.
  • Assist persons with disabilities or special needs.
  • Remain until an all clear is given by Public Safety

Designated spaces allow four feet per person, divided by the shelter area's square feet.

IMPORTANT: After any evacuation, report to your designated assembly point. Stay there until an accurate head count is taken. The building co-captains will take attendance and assist in accounting for all occupants.
