Tougaloo College is accredited by the Mississippi Commission on College Accreditation (MCCA), and the educator preparation programs located in the School of Education, Supervision, and Instruction are approved by the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE). The MCCA is the state agency which approves all colleges and universities or other entities that offer one or more post-secondary academic degrees and are located in or incorporated in the state of Mississippi. The School of Education, Supervision, and Instruction at Tougaloo College, teacher education program, Master of Arts in Teaching, and Master of Arts in Child Development are approved by the MDE.
