The ELITE Scholar Summit is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Counselors to support our summer leadership and college-readiness program for high school students. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about youth development, college access, and academic enrichment. Senior Counselors will play a key role in guiding students, promoting a positive camp environment, and supporting daily program operations, without any paperwork or administrative documentation responsibilities.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Senior Counselor serves as a mentor and role model to high school students participating in the ELITE Scholar Summit. Supports and supervises student cohorts during workshops, field trips, cultural activities, and leadership exercises. Provides social-emotional support and guidance to ensure students feel engaged, safe, and empowered throughout the program. Assist program facilitators and coordinators with transitions between sessions and general logistics (e.g., ensuring students arrive at sessions on time, managing group movement). Communicate effectively with program staff to address student concerns, behavioral issues, or special needs. Participate in daily debriefs and morning check-ins with the program team to ensure alignment and awareness of expectations.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with high school students in an educational, mentoring, or youth leadership capacity. A minimum of three (3)years in a position performing the above duties and responsibilities.
