Tougaloo College President Dr. Carmen J. Walters is named among Mississippi’s Most Influential African Americans in 2022.

Each year an independent panel of business and community leaders selects outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions from different fields and categories. With the dozens of nominations received by Our Mississippi, only a select few will be part of the list.

Tougaloo, Miss –The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is the premier research and development center for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in Vicksburg, MS. Their main purpose is to discover, develop, and deliver innovative solutions to the nation's toughest challenges in military engineering, installations, and operational environments. They focus on civil works, geospatial research and engineering, as well as engineered resilient systems.

A Stellar Year for Professional and Graduate School Acceptance for School of Natural Science Graduates

TOUGALOO, MS - Tougaloo College has a long-standing history of producing students who matriculate on to a graduate or professional school. It is continuously revered as a top producer of doctors, lawyers, judges, and educators. This year, Tougaloo College's School of Natural Science (SNS) and its students had a stellar year reaching a 70% placement rate for students going on to a graduate or professional school program.
