Regulations
Traffic & Parking Overview
The College has adopted regulations pertaining to campus traffic and parking in order to provide safety and security to the college community and facilities and to minimize disturbances and congestion.
To accomplish these goals, it is necessary for all students, faculty, and staff to become familiar with the regulations and abide by them. The regulations are applicable to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Important Notice
Anyone who receives a cumulative of four unpaid violations may be subject to having their registration and decals to operate a vehicle withdrawn.
Driving a motor vehicle is both a privilege and a responsibility. The College reserves the right to regulate the use of all vehicles on campus and to forbid the use of a vehicle by any individual whose conduct indicates they are not complying with established rules and regulations.
Vehicle Registration
All vehicles must be registered and display current decals to operate on campus.
Student Registration
All students operating vehicles on campus must register by the first Monday in September.

Faculty/Staff Registration
Faculty and staff members must register vehicles operated on campus premises.
Expires: July 31st

Parking Areas & Lot Assignments
The campus has 17 designated parking lots with approximately 800 parking spaces.
Residential Students
Must park in designated residential lots only
- Lot C: Berkshire A
- Lot D: Berkshire B
- Lot E: Front of Holmes Hall
- Lot F: Across from Holmes Hall
- Lot G: North end of Holmes Hall
- Lot T: New Women Residence Hall
Commuter Students
Must park in designated commuter lots only
- Lot A: Front of Brownlee Hall
- Lot B: East side of Brownlee Hall
- Lot I: Front of Kincheloe Hall
- Lot J: Behind Kincheloe Hall
- Lot M: Front of Trio Building
Faculty & Staff
Reserved spaces and designated faculty/staff lots
- Lot H: Northwest end of Renner Hall
- Lot K: Southwest end of A.A. Branch Hall
- Lot L: Between Blackmon & A.A. Branch

Campus Traffic Regulations
All campus community members must follow these essential traffic safety rules.
Speed Limits
Campus Roads: 20 MPH maximum
Parking Lots: 5 MPH maximum
Speed limits are strictly enforced for the safety of pedestrians and other drivers on campus.
Safe & Courteous Driving
Motor vehicles must be operated in a safe and courteous manner at all times on campus.
Reckless driving may result in fines or referral to civil authorities.
Pedestrian Safety
Pedestrians at crosswalks have the right-of-way over motor vehicles.
Always yield to pedestrians and exercise caution in high-traffic areas.
Authorized Areas Only
Vehicles may only be operated on streets, drives, and designated parking lots.
Driving or parking on grass, walkways, or "no-parking" zones is prohibited.
Traffic Signs
All traffic signs must be observed and obeyed.
This includes stop signs, yield signs, directional signs, and parking restrictions.
Accident Reporting
Any accident involving a motor vehicle must be reported to Campus Security immediately.
This applies regardless of the extent of damages involved.
Legal Authority
It is a violation of College policy to willfully refuse to obey a lawful order given by Department of Public Safety officers or any law enforcement officer.
Violations & Penalties
All fines are to be paid at the Cashier's window in the Blackmon Administration Building.
Towing Policy
Vehicles may be towed at owner's expense for:
- • Unregistered vehicles
- • Unauthorized parking
- • Creating traffic hazards
- • Handicap space violations
- • Safety zone violations
Appeals Process
To appeal a Vehicle Violation Notice:
- • Submit written request to Dean of Students
- • Must be within 10 days of notice date
- • Appeal heard by Traffic Committee
