Jackson Heart Study Convocation

Tougaloo College welcomes Commander Helen Cox to speak during the Jackson Heart Study Convocation on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in Woodworth Chapel at 10 AM. Cox is a Program Management Officer in the Center for Translation Research and Implementation Science, within the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). In this role, she manages the NHLBI Diversity Supplements program and serves as a program official for a portfolio of grants and cooperative agreements.

As a Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service for almost 18 years, she has completed five hurricane response deployments. 

Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, CDR Cox holds a Master of Health Science in Health Policy and Management, focusing on behavioral science and health education from the Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
