Tougaloo Trustee Becomes Major Law Firm Partner

Tougaloo's very own alumna and trustee, Shirlethia Franklin, has been slated for admittance to partnership in the global law firm Jones Day.

Franklin’s career includes work as a former senior U.S. Department of Justice official, litigating civil cases involving the federal government. She was a member of the 2013 - 2014 Class of White House Fellows for leadership and public service and previously served on the board of directors for the White House Fellows Foundation and Association.

Students Prepare for Global Leadership

Tougaloo College is providing students with another way to become global leaders. In the spirit of global impact, President Beverly Wade Hogan visited Barcelona, Spain last month as part of a new partnership that will provide free passports to 75 Tougaloo College students. Hogan was among nine college and university presidents from the United States invited to participate in the Presidential Leadership Workshop hosted by the Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE) and the Penn Center for Minority Serving Institutions (CMSI).
