Submit an Early Alert
Are you worried about a student's academic performance or well-being? You can submit an at-risk alert to bring the concern to the attention of the Student Retention staff.
Teaching Resources
Access educational resources, best practices, and tools to enhance your teaching effectiveness and support student learning outcomes.
Request a Seminar
Our coaches are equipped to visit your class or student group to deliver informative and engaging seminars.

Academic Standing Guide
A primary purpose of the Office of Student Retention is to serve our At-Risk student population. We define "at-risk" by the following characteristics:
Who We Consider "At-Risk"
Good Standing
GPA 2.0 & above and Satisfactory Academic Progress is met
Academic Warning
Your term or cumulative GPA fell below 2.0 for the first time.
Academic Probation
No Improvement after warning or successful appeal of suspension.
Academic Suspension
Still not meeting standards or appeal denied.

Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society
Alpha Rho Chapter · Chartered at Tougaloo College in 1954
The purpose of the society is to promote high scholarship, to encourage sincere endeavor in all fields of knowledge and service, to cultivate a high order of personal living and to develop an appreciation for scholarly work and a scholarly endeavor in others.
