Supporting Student Success
Food insecurity is prevalent on college campuses in the United States and abroad. At Tougaloo College, we're committed to ensuring every student has access to essential resources for academic success.

The Wisconsin HOPE Lab conducted the largest national survey assessing the basic needs security of 43,000 university students. This study revealed that 36% of university students were food insecure in the 30 days preceding the survey.
The Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi formed The College and University Anti-Hunger Alliance of Mississippi, and in 2018, Tougaloo College joined this alliance to better fortify our dedication to academic achievement with the creation of the Student Support Pantry in 2019.
In addition to providing food to our students, we also provide personal hygiene items, laundry supplies, and school supplies through our Tougaloo Cares initiative.
