Tougaloo College Welcomes New Vice President for Finance and Administration/CFO

Tougaloo, MS — Following a year-long national search, Tougaloo College is pleased to announce the appointment of Pacey Bowens, a proven leader in financial administration, governmental accounting, and the private sector, as the new Vice President for Finance and Administration/CFO.

Bowens will begin her position at the College on July 1, 2022. She currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Finance at Arkansas Northeastern College. An extensive background in the oversight of federal, state, and local grant management programs, Bowen also serves as a liaison in all financial reporting matters to the State of Arkansas Division of Finance and Administration, Arkansas Division of Legislative Audit, Arkansas Department of Higher Education, and other external auditors. She brings to the College a wealth of experience.

President Walters says of Bowens, that “Tougaloo is fortunate to welcome someone as skilled as Pacey Bowens to lead our financial and administrative operations. Ms. Bowens is an experienced leader in her field and has been in higher education and management for many years. We are confident that she will complement our team.”

In her new role, Bowens will lead the College’s long-term financial planning and strategic budgeting. These responsibilities will be in addition to her leadership in the day-to-day operations related to finance, business affairs, human resources, information technology, internal audit, investments, institutional compliance, and other campus operations, areas that are critical to the institution’s stability and viability. As the Vice President/CFO, she will manage all fiscal and administrative planning, policies and regulations, fiscal administration of all institutional funds, and the operation of the College's major administrative functions. She will be tasked with bringing a coordinated, integrated, and strategic approach to college operations, recognizing the importance of how all students, faculty and staff experience the College.

Bowens has over twenty-five years of progressive professional experience in all business administration and management phases. She earned her Master of Business Administration/Accounting degree in 2010 and is pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Arkansas State University.
