Tougaloo College Celebrates Alumnus Congressman Bennie Thompson's Presidential Citizens Medal Honor

Tougaloo College proudly celebrates Congressman Bennie G. Thompson, Class of 1968, on receiving the prestigious Presidential Citizens Medal from President Joe Biden. This distinguished honor, one of the highest civilian awards in the United States, recognizes Congressman Thompson’s unwavering dedication to democracy, justice, and the principles of the Constitution throughout his decades-long career in public service.

The award ceremony, held at the White House on January 2, 2025, was a moment of national recognition for Congressman Thompson’s exemplary leadership.
