4th Annual Social Justice Week and Civil Rights & Social Justice Conference

You are cordially invited to attend the 4th Annual Social Justice Week and 2023 Civil Rights & Social Justice Conference at Tougaloo College this week March 27 through April 1. This year’s theme is Hands on the Freedom Plow: Collective Action to Redeem the Soul of America.

Special guests include: Grammy-winning producer, artist, and activist, David Banner; co-founder of The Dream Defenders and Black Men Build, Phillip Agnewthe Honorable Karen Weaver, Tougaloo alumna and former mayor of Flint, Michigan; and members of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). In honor of Women’s History Month, we will also pay a special tribute to the Honorable Unita Blackwell, the first African-American woman mayor in Mississippi.
