Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Biology

Postion Summary

Tougaloo College, a historically black college, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biology to begin in August 2022. This position is a full-time teaching appointment. The candidate is expected to teach Biology courses (lectures and laboratories) offered by the department including, but not limited to, General Biology, Evolution, Ecology, and Environmental Science. The candidate will be expected to provide academic advising and mentoring to undergraduate students. Other responsibilities include participation in departmental activities, participation in divisional activities and service to the College and community. Postdoctoral research experience is preferred.

Experience/Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Biology with expertise in Evolutionary Biology, Environmental Science or in a closely related biology field.

Duties

Teaching experience; academic advising of undergraduates and mentoring underrepresented minority undergraduates and strong interest in developing research project.
