INSTRUCTOR/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PSYCHOLOGY

Postion Summary

Tougaloo College, a private four-year, co-educational institution in Jackson Mississippi, invites applications for Instructor/Assistant Professors of Psychology, beginning as early as Spring 2022. Responsibilities include: teaching four undergraduate courses per semester and student advising, supervising students’ senior papers, supporting departmental efforts for continued improvement of programs, and serving the College through committee participation.

Experience/Qualifications

Master’s or Ph.D. in Psychology with some teaching experience at the collegiate or university level preferred. Applicants with ABD in the field will also be considered, however, the Ph.D. is required for tenure consideration. Candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and have a strong command in SPSS program. Grant writing experience will be an asset. Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with faculty and community members is essential.

A letter of interest, curriculum vita, copies of transcripts, sample syllabus of a taught course, evidence of teaching excellence, statement of teaching philosophy, and three current letters of reference that address teaching ability. An official transcript is required during interviews.
