Tougaloo College, a private four-year co-educational institution in Jackson Mississippi, invites applications for Instructor/Assistant Professor in Accounting in the Department of Economics, with the major in Economics and concentrations/emphases in Business Management and Accounting, beginning as early as Spring 2022. The successful candidates will teach a full range of courses in the Accounting sequence, including Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Income Tax Accounting, as well as supervise student internship in accounting.
Ph.D. preferred. Applicants with ABD, CPA, or Master’s in Accounting will also be considered. However, Ph.D. or ABD is required for tenure–track appointment. Teaching experience at the collegiate or university level is preferred. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. Grant writing experience will be an asset. Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with faculty and community members is essential.
A letter of interest, curriculum vita, copies of transcripts, sample syllabus of a taught course, evidence of teaching excellence, statement of teaching philosophy, and three current letters of reference that address teaching ability. An official transcript is required during interviews.
