Associate Director-Federal TRiO Programs

Postion Summary

Responsible for maintaining an inventory of all program’s equipment. Assist Director in identifying program instructors (Saturday sessions and afternoon tutorials ). Assist Director with organizing professional development activities for all TRiO Programs. Maintain Time and Effort forms for all TRiO employees including instructors. Adhere to the Department of Education guidelines for effective program operation. Take minutes at Managers’ bimonthly meetings. Service as the advisor for monitoring and tracking all graduating pre-college participants. Assist with the database networking of program participants’ files. Responsible for posting job vacancies with the Human Resources Department and organizing interview committees to fill vacancies within the Department. Update and disseminate scholarship information to graduating senior participants. Maintain and update Programs’ Policy and Procedures Manual. Attend designed Upward Bound Saturday meetings (17 meetings-September-April) and attend Summer Residential Camp Activities (6-week camp-June & July). Attend all required meetings, trainings and workshops. Assist in preparing the United States Department of Education Annual Performance Reports for all programs. Serve as advisor for Institutional Effectiveness Plan for all programs. In the event of the Director’s absence, the Associate Director will assume responsibilities, duties as relates to all TRiO Programs. A minimum of 7 years supervisory experience, working with disadvantage and low-income youth. Minimum of 5 years of proven successful grant writing experience. Other duties assigned by the TRiO Director. Travel to conferences and college tours/activities is required. 

Duties

Under the supervision of the Director, the Associate Director will be responsible for assisting with the overall leadership implementation of the programs, providing professional guiding and counseling to participants, demonstrate the ability to organize records, assist in professional development for staff and participants, make referrals, ability to promote the total growth of the student’s ability to develop, disseminate and collect, acquire and maintain information systems designed to assess participant’s academic progress. 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A minimum, of a Master’s Degree or higher in Educational Administration & Supervision, Guidance and Counseling, Social Work or related field is required.
