Assistant Professor in Social Work

Postion Summary

Tougaloo College—a private four-year, co-educational institution in Jackson Mississippi—invites applications for a tenure-track, appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Social Work, beginning Fall 2022. The successful applicant is expected to teach four undergraduate courses per semester, advise student majors; supervise students’ senior papers, support departmental efforts for continued improvement of programs, and serve the College through committee participation.

Experience/Qualifications

Candidates must have an MSW degree, and a doctoral degree in Social Work. ABD applicants may also be considered; however, a PhD or ABD is required for tenure track position. Teaching experience at a community college, four-year college, or university is preferred. We are particularly interested in candidate with ability to work collaboratively and collegially with faculty and community stakeholders; and who possess excellent interpersonal communication, administrative skills, grant writing skills, and a strong command in SPSS program.
