The Division of Education, Supervision, and Instruction seeks a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank with teaching expertise in and scholarly pursuits/interests related to Elementary Education (Grades K-6) curriculum and instruction. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Elementary Education teacher preparation program and courses in the Master of Arts in Teaching Program. Success in this tenure-track position entails excellence in teaching, research, and service. Essential duties include teaching courses in Elementary Education and Master of Arts in Teaching Program, supervising practicums and student internships, advising undergraduate students, collaborating with PK-12 partners, conducting research and writing grants, engaging in other scholarly activities, and performing other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate for this position must have an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Elementary Education, Curriculum, and Instruction with a minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in PK-6 classrooms; an established research agenda commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor; knowledge of and experience with Elementary Education national and state accreditation standards and processes. Other preferred skills include: experience in utilizing educational technology; ability to teach face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid courses; possess healthy rapport with students; facilitate successful and productive student advisement; familiarity with CAEP standards, assessment, and evaluation; and demonstrate a strong skill set in instructional “best practices.”
