ASSESSMENT AND RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Postion Summary

The Assessment and Research Associate will work to develop and implement a comprehensive program of assessment for the purpose of institutional improvements in accordance with accreditation requirements in support of institutional effectiveness. The Associate will also assist in conducting institutional research by performing appropriate analyses and reporting. The Associate reports directly to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research

Duties
  • Work with faculty and staff to ensure valid outcome assessment measures are implemented in the departmental assessment plans. Identify best practices and provide resources.
  • Provide counsel for the design and analyses of data for assessment of student learning outcome and academic program reviews.

  • Conduct and/or assist with a wide variety of assessment research efforts for the college, including managing national and college-wide surveys.

  • Conduct regular training relating to assessment, data collection, and maintenance.

  • Create reports for the Director and for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Conduct first-year surveys, program review surveys, and online surveys for data collection.

  • Manage multi-year assessment databases to support assessment and strategic decision-making.

  • Conduct analyses of quantitative/qualitative data, prepare analysis reports, dashboards, or data visualization, and disseminate the results to the campus community.

  • Conduct assessment projects to help advance campus initiatives and improve campus efficiency.

  • Develop and maintain the College Survey and Report Repository.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Master’s degree (preferred) with coursework in qualitative/quantitative research design and data analysis, educational research, assessment, psychology, sociology, or related fields. Thorough knowledge of assessment practices in higher education; minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis in higher education

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Proficiency with the use of statistical software packages, e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, MS EXCEL, etc., and high education data resources.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze and resolve complex problems in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
