Part-time academic instructors will work the months of September 2022-April 2023 during Upward Bound Programs (17 Saturdays) meetings. The students are high school level (Grades 9-12). The target population attends various high schools. The programs are seeking to hire instructors for English (I, II, III and IV) and math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Algebra III, and Calculus).
A minimum of a 4-year degree in the appropriate academic areas. Three (3) years prior teaching experience and a current Mississippi teaching license is required.
Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the instructors will assess students’ academic weaknesses in subject area; provides instruction for relevant content areas in all levels to enable students to overcome academic deficiencies; submits content outlines and syllabus of subject matter to be taught in each instruction session; evaluates and documents student attendance; evaluates and documents student progress by use of tutorial sessions and grade reports.
