Students have many opportunities to gain hands-on, practical media experience from their freshman year to graduation with the Harambee News Network. When a Mass Communications student graduates from our program, she or he is ready to enter the exciting and challenging media profession.
The Harambee is Tougaloo College's official student newspaper. Students conduct interviews and write the stories, design the pages, sell the ads, and shoot the photographs that appear in the newspaper each week.
Channel 19 – student-produced television programming can be found on this college channel. Popular programs include:
"This Week at the Loo": An hour long television news program that covers campus and area news.
"Urban Love Story": Weekly student soap opera/drama.
(all programs are acted, hosted, edited, produced, and filmed by Tougaloo College students)
