Alumni and Friends:
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Tougaloo Endowment Trust (TET), a fund established to help secure the future of the College. So often, we are so consumed by the demands of the present that we fail to plan adequately for the future. The TET provides a vehicle for all alumni and friends to help Tougaloo College build a lasting endowment.
We are asking all alumni and friends to commit to a minimum monthly donation of only $20.00. This amount will allow everyone who loves the College to participate in securing its future. We have established an account with BankPlus for the TET. Donations can be made through a bank draft or credit card debit directly into the College's TET account at BankPlus.
You can register your participation in the program by completing the attached form and returning it to the Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA). This office will then submit your information to the bank, which will, through monthly drafts, deposit your contributions to the TET account.
In accordance with our endowment trust fund objectives, all funds will remain fully invested for a minimum of fifteen years. Thereafter, only available account earnings will be distributed to support the College's operations. The corpus will remain to continue earning.
The gift to the TET in not a gift to the 1869 Annual Fund. For those who give to the 1869 Annual Fund, please continue to do so. Our annual gifts help to address the present obligations and priorities of the College's operations, keeping the College solvent year after year. We need both to achieve Vision 2020: Creating a Community of Change.
The TET demonstrates our sustaining power. Through this plan, we can establish a fiscal legacy that will:
1. Help the College grow
2. Make an impact on generations of students
3. Leave a legacy at the College upon which succeeding generations can build
Our ongoing support of this plan will help the College continue to grow toward greater service, impact and excellence.
Your support is pivotal to our success. Please make your commitment today to support Tougaloo College. Together, we can make it happen!
