The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2011-2012 Division I Men's Basketball All-America Teams on Wednesday. Tougaloo's Marquise Mems was selected to the First Team for the second consecutive year.
The selections were made by the NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Association All-America Committee and comprises a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention Team. There are 10 members on each of the first three All-America teams. Marquise Mems was selected to the First Team last season and was one of four players to repeat this season.
Mems, a 6'5 senior guard/forward from Shelby, MS, finished the season averaging 21.1 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game. Mems shot 43.3% from the field and 30.9% from behind the arc. He ranked nationally in four categories; #8 in Total Scoring (718), #11 in Points per Game (21.1), #16 in Total Steals (84), and #19 in Steals per Game (2.5). Along with being selected to the First Team All-America Team, Mems was also selected to the GCAC All-Conference Team and the All-Tournament Team. Mems was the only Tougaloo player to be selected to any All-America Team.
In his final collegiate game, Mems led the Bulldogs with 20 points in its first round loss to Rogers State in the NAIA National Tournament. Mems collected 1,371 career points in his two seasons at Tougaloo College, giving him a career average of 20.5 points per game.

The selections were made by the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Association All-America Committee and comprises a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention Team. There are 10 members on each of the first three All-America teams. Victoria Jones was selected to the Honorable Mention team for her efforts this season.
Jones, a 5'10 senior forward from Saginaw, MI, finished the season averaging 15.3 points per game and 14.7 rebounds per game. Jones shot 40.6% from the field. She ranked nationally in seven categories; #1 in Offensive Rebounds per Game (7.03), #1 in Total Rebounds per Game (14.7), #1 in Total Total Rebounds (455), #8 in Defensive Rebounds per Game (7.6), #35 in Total Scoring (473), #38 in Points per Game (15.3), and #50 in Field Goal Pct (0.41). Along with being selected to the Honorable Mention All-America Team, Jones was to the GCAC All-Conference and All-Tournament Teams and was selected GCAC Player of the Year.
In her last collegiate game, Jones led the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points and 16 rebounds in their semifinal loss to Xavier University in the GCAC Tournament. Jones collected 1,864 career points and 1,612 career rebounds in her four season here at Tougaloo College.
