The historic Tougaloo College is pleased to announce its 2021 Civil Rights and Social Justice Conference on September 24-25, 2021, hosted by the Reuben V. Anderson Institute for Social Justice. The conference will commemorate the 60th anniversary of watershed moments in the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement, featuring civil rights icons, eminent scholars, and influential non-profit leaders and community activists/organizers who will highlight lessons from the past and offer ways in which communities can build capacity to address 21st century civil and human rights issues in the state of Mississippi.

Due to COVID-19, we have carefully planned this conference and have limited in-person programs while still providing platforms to reach a broad audience. All conference programs will be livestreamed.
