OSPR is the first stop in your grant development journey. Our team is dedicated to the identification and development of funding opportunities relevant to Tougaloo College's various needs.
Proposal Development
Disseminate information about funding opportunities and trends
Present workshops on topics such as funding searches, writing proposals, and developing budgets
Coordinate submission for all proposal requests for external funding
Review all proposals for external funding
Coordinate negotiation of contract/proposal terms and budgetary changes on behalf of Tougaloo College
Serve as staff for the Institutional Review Board and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
Work with College administrators to develop and implement research policies and procedures
Proposal Process
Grant Applicant's Initial Meeting with OSPR: Submit Authorization to Apply Form; review guidelines, indirect costs, and grant application
Grant Applicant – Preparation: Grant applicant prepares Narrative, Budget Draft, and Budget Justification and forwards these components to OSPR
OSPR – Suggestions: OSPR gives suggestions on Narrative, Budget, and Budget Justification
Grant Applicant – Submission: If Project Package is ready for submission, Project Staff completes the Authorization to Submit Form and forwards it to OSPR with a copy of the final proposal
Grant Applicant's Final Meeting with OSPR: Grant applicant meets with OSPR to finalize the Proposal Package and to submit to sponsor
