Homeland Security Initiatives (HSI) and related projects are administered through the Office of the President, Tougaloo College. A variety of support services, education, training and sponsored programs are designed to enhance the development and implementation of homeland security programs at Tougaloo College and in the community.

Academic programs in disaster management, cyber security and emergency preparedness are further enhanced through Tougaloo's regional and jurisdictional partnerships with Federal, state, private industry, and local entities.

In addition, the college's National Transportation Center of Excellence (TC-NTSCOE) sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration focuses primarily on Transportation Security education and training.

Tougaloo College advances an interdisciplinary approach to homeland security – all campus departments and sectors are included in activities designed to build, advance, and cultivate a homeland security presence within Tougaloo College.
