The Tom Joyner Foundation "School of the Month and Hercules Scholars"

Tougaloo, Miss. — The Tom Joyner Foundation selected Tougaloo College as the “School of the
Month” for the month of March 2011. Throughout the month, the nationally syndicated radio
personality, Tom Joyner, is announcing the “Hercules Scholars” scholarship recipients during
his radio show, the “Tom Joyner Morning Show” which airs locally on WKXI 107.5 FM.
Only full time male students who maintained at least a 3.5 GPA and demonstrate leadership
skills in civic and academic organizations were eligible. The scholarship recipients for Tougaloo
College are:
Jervarius Prescott, a Senior, Political Science major from Cleveland, MS with a 3.64 GPA.
Arrion Light, a Junior, Interdisciplinary Career Oriented Humanities (ICOHM) major from Detroit, MI with a 3.51 GPA.
Jamal Perkins, a Sophomore, Mathematics major from Greenwood, MS with a 3.60 GPA.
Windell Blount, a Junior, Political Science major from Jackson, MS with a 3.65 GPA.
Antron McKay, a Senior, Mathematics and Special Education double major from Robinsonville, MS with a 3.58 GPA
The Tom Joyner Foundation has been dedicated to raising money for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) since 1998.
