Registration
The periods for registration are stated in the College Catalog. Students must register in person and have advisors to assist them in the selection of courses, however, the student has the responsibility for choosing their program of courses in the proper sequence. Students are advised to keep a record of all courses and transactions. Concurrent registration at other institutions is permitted on approval of the Vice President of Academic Affairs. 

Drop/Add
Students may add or drop a course within the limitation of the total permissible load at any time during the time allotted for registration. To do so, students must file an approved form by the advisor and instructor of the course.  The advisor and the instructor of the course must sign the form. All students must have an official class admission ticket for each class prior to attending the class.

Transfer of Credit
Individuals who wish to transfer from other accredited institutions may petition the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Generally, academic credit will be awarded for transfer work where a grade of "C" or higher was earned. The course work must be college level academic work. The College will accept up to 64 hours from a community or other two-year institution.Individuals with advanced standing, seeking a degree at Tougaloo College, must spend the final academic year in residence. During this period they must take at least 30 semester hours of credit and must achieve an average grade of "C" or higher.

Transfer of Summer School Credit
During their tenure at Tougaloo College, students may transfer up to 14 semester hours earned in summer school.
